“Amazing Grace” has not only been a well-known hymn around here but has also been our desired emphasis and identity.
Our History
Amazing Grace Church, in its present form, began in 1955 and has been here on South Federal Boulevard ever since. That was the year that Pastor Gaylord Kindschy arrived to conduct a week of ‘revival meetings” for a fledgling “pioneer” work. Pastor Kindschy and his wife were asked to pray about being the full-time pastors of the church. They agreed to the call and served here right up to Pastor Kindschy’s death in January of 2020. From the beginning, “Amazing Grace” has not only been a well-known hymn around here but has also been our desired emphasis and identity. We seek to be a place of healing and hope where a person can encounter the gracious love of God.
Over the years, Amazing Grace Church has been marked by a commitment to Christian Education and discipleship. For many years, the church ran an extensive Sunday School Bus ministry, a Christian coffee house, a day care center, and a full-time Christian Elementary School. In recent years, the church has also had a passion to be a blessing in the neighborhood with kids clubs, youth groups, coat drives, dinners, banquets, barbeques, community gardens, food closet, skate nights, and much more.
Amazing Grace Church is a Protestant Christian, non-denominational congregation, and has been incorporated with the State of Colorado and has been functioning non-stop in its current location for over 60 years.
